Halloween.

Trying to decide upon a Halloween costume is tough.  I have always been a fan of the ‘home made’ costumes vs. the pre-made, store bought type.

As a kid a dressed up as a witch 6 years in a row…no joke.  So I think that ever since I have been trying to make up for my lack of creativity.  In the fifth grade, I thought it would be a great idea to dress up like a Jolly Rancher…yes…the candy. With a kid size cardboard box, some matching tights, and two other flavored friends to match we sure looked the part!

But as you get older, it’s harder to pick out costumes.  And a cardboard box just won’t cut it.

I’d like to think some of my best work was done in college.

So what have I decided for this year? You’ll have to wait and see. But I can tell you this: I broke tradition and I bought a pre-made, store bought costume. Ugh!  I do plan to add my own touches here and there and hopefully save the outfit from pre-made doom!   I may also be trying to accessorize my boyfriend as well…but Adam is not one to dress up with the girls…so we’ll see. ;)

Happy Halloween!

I remember a couple of those costumes. I’m contemplating what to be for Halloween as well. Previously have been a iPod commercial (dressed in all black, listening to my iPod and dancing with everyone around me), ‘one night stand’ (put real door handles on a cardboard box I place over me. velcro’d my cell, alarm clock and a pack of gum to the shoulders and topped it off with a lampshade on my head).

Perhaps you could make some recommendations for this year. I prefer being in character. Thanks Batty.

    • haha you would have seen most of these costumes! I can’t believe that the infamous Zephan is struggling with costume ideas! You always come up with something good. I had troubles myself and I am still waiting for my costume to arrive in the mail…which I am very nervous about. :/

I’d like to note that you were a Jolly Rancher in the fourth grade, not the fifth. Also, you dressed up as Elvira for two years, which is still hilarious.
